Group calls on Aquino to resign

THE National Transformation Council (NTC), multi-sectoral organization, held its Davao assembly at SMX Convention Center at SM Lanang Premier on Friday, calling on President Benigno Aquino III to relinquish the presidency.
"Ang paniniwala namin hindi siya pangulo kasi yung eleksyon na humalal sa kanya in 2010, we believe was fraudulent because of the compromised Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machines," Jerry Ocampo, member of Tanggulang Demokrasya, a prime mover of the NTC, said in an interview with Sun.Star Davao at the sidelines of the assembly.
Likewise, Ocampo said those who were elected in the 2013 elections should also not be sitting on their respective position.
"Everybody who was elected in the past two elections are not legally elected," he said.
He said the NTC has proof of discrepancies during the 2010 and 2013 elections and they have filed cases on these already.
Ocampo said once Aquino relinquishes his post, NTC will lead the transition government to lead the moral change in the country.
NTC is composed of two levels, upper and lower. On the upper level are the moral leaders who are coming from the different religious groups in the country while on the lower level are the Cabinet members.
Ocampo said they already have identified members who will take on government positions when Aquino and other leaders step down from their positions.
He did not disclose as to how many of them are in the group or their leaders because some of them need to protect themselves. But Ocampo said they have members within the government.
Ocampo said the NTC will lead the moral and political transformation of the country.
The NTC Assembly is a series of forum that will be staged in different cities. Ocampo said they first conducted the assembly in Lipa City, Cebu City, Butuan City, and yesterday in Davao City.
Ocampo said the NTC has around 20 organization supporters and more than a thousand member supporters.
